Exadata Database service Network Architecture Overview

 

  • When launching the Exadata Database Service, two Subnets are required in the VCN for the Client network and Backup network.
  1. Client Subnet
  2. Backup Subnet
  • When launching the Exadata Database Service, you can use Reginal or AD specific Subnets.
  • When launching the Exadata Database Service, if you use AD specific Subnets the client and backup subnets are both in the same AD.

AD–> Availability Domain

 

 

  • After you’ve created a VCN or subnet, you can’t change its size to accommodate growth demands from the Exadata Database Service.
  • The VCN that you configure, must be in the same region where you want to launch Exadata Database Service

VCN setup can be seen in the below picture in the OCI Region.

  • Public Client Subnet will be accessed with Internet Gateway.
  • Private Client Subnet will be accessed with Dynamic Routing Gateway.
