Getting error “Unable to open /dev/tty” in ODA ilom.

Error

Getting the error (in red color) as shown below while connecting to Integrated Lights Out Manager ( ILOM ) of Oracle Database Appliance (ODA)

 

->start /SP/console
Are you sure you want to start /SP/console (y/n)? y
Unable to open /dev/tty
exitDisconnected

Solution

issue  “reset /sp”   as shown below .

reset /sp can be used to resolve issue.

# ipmitool sunoem cli
Connected. Use “D to exit.
->start /SP/console
Are you sure you want to start /SP/console (y/n)? y
Unable to open /dev/tty
-> reset /sp
Are you sure you want to reset /SP (y/n)? y
Performing reset on /SP
No data available Communication error.

# ipmitool sunoem cli
No data available
Get Device ID command failed
No data available
No data available
No valid response received
No data available
Sun OEM cli command failed

Note: After few minutes try connecting to ilom
