Oracle Database 19c installation requirements on AIX

Prerequisites for 19c installation:

If you are using the minimum operating system TL level for AIX 7.1
listed above, then install the following AIX APAR fix:
• AIX7.1 TL05 : IJ04311 – GETSOCKNAME returns invalid path
name for AF_UNIX sockets
AIX APAR numbers are tied to AIX versions and technology levels.
Download and install the APAR that matches your AIX versions and
Technology Levels from the IBM fix central website at the following
Minimum RAM • At least 1 GB RAM for Oracle Database installations. 2 GB RAM recommended.
• At least 8 GB RAM for Oracle Grid Infrastructure installations
Swap space allocation relative to RAM Between 1 GB and 2 GB: 1.5 times the size of the RAM
Between 2 GB and 16 GB: Equal to the size of the RAM
More than 16 GB: 16 GB
Disk space allocated to the /tmp directory At least 5 GB of space in the temporary disk space (/tmp) directory
ORACLE_HOME_Location Oracle recommends that you allocate
approximately 100 GB to allow additional
space for applying any future patches on
top of the existing Oracle home. For specific
patch-related disk space requirements,
please refer to your patch documentation.

The following filesets are required for Oracle Real Application Clusters (Oracle RAC) Installations only: • rsct.basic.rte
